Overview

Audio Import stores a recording as a managed audio asset and associates it with a track in the active Catalog. The source master remains distinct from metadata and from Audio Intelligence results. CatalogIQOS does not master audio, split stems, or infer alternate-version relationships automatically.

Before you begin

Select the correct Workspace and Catalog. Use WAV, MP3, AIFF, or FLAC. Confirm that a matching track exists or be prepared to choose the available create-track flow. Upload capability depends on Workspace role and storage entitlement; the public demo is read-only.

Where to find it

Open Catalog → Imports → Audio Import at /audio-import.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Confirm the Workspace and Catalog badges at the top of Audio Import.
  2. Choose a supported master file and start the upload.
  3. Match the file to the correct existing track using title and identifiers, or use the offered new-track option when appropriate.
  4. Review the association before confirming; similarly named versions must be checked manually.
  5. Monitor the asset state on Audio Import or Operations → Processing Queue.
  6. Open the track after processing and verify playback and asset details before requesting Audio Intelligence.

What happens next

The asset is attached to the chosen track. Processing may continue asynchronously. Audio Intelligence is a separate action and its measured or suggested attributes do not overwrite canonical metadata without review.

Best practices

Use the highest-quality approved master, preserve meaningful filenames, and check duration before matching. Upload one version at a time when titles are similar.

Common problems

Unsupported codecs, interrupted transfers, insufficient permissions, or a mismatched Catalog can prevent completion. Do not upload stems or alternate mixes expecting automatic grouping.

Troubleshooting

For a failed upload, retry from a stable connection and verify the file opens locally. For a long-running state, check Processing Queue before uploading a duplicate. If replacement controls are unavailable, confirm your role and storage limits.
