Managing Public Domain & Arrangement Rights

A track may use a public-domain underlying composition while a new arrangement and a new sound recording remain controlled. CatalogIQOS stores those facts independently: the underlying-work status and evidence, each arranger's track-specific control, and master ownership. A public-domain status never makes the arrangement or master public domain.

1. Select the underlying-work status; do not infer it from a composer name.
2. For Public Domain, enter the original title, composer, applicable territory, basis, source edition, and evidence note.
3. Select a canonical Contributor as arranger and enter arrangement control, territory, verification, and registration status.
4. Record master ownership independently.
5. Review Audit and Pitch output, then verify the assertion against authoritative sources before licensing.

The original historical composer is attribution, not a modern claimant requiring PRO, IPI, ownership, or publisher administration. Readiness means required administrative fields are present; it is not a legal opinion or clearance guarantee.
